Dalton Somaré at AMART 2024
On the occasion of AMART – l’Antiquariato è a Milano 2024, among the most significant events in the Milanese art calendar, Dalton Somaré presents a selection of works of classical African art and ancient Indo-Buddhist art. AMART is the annual fair promoted by the Associazione Antiquari Milanesi and is held in Milan at the Museo della Permanente.
At Booth 35, the gallery presents several of its most recent acquisitions, reflecting a research-based approach centered on formal quality and historical value.
Works on view
Among the works exhibited:
a Youré mask from Ivory Coast, distinguished by its refinement and formal complexity
an image of Lokeswara from the Pala dynasty, from Bihar, notable for its ability to embody the philosophical principles and moral teachings of the Buddhist tradition
These works reflect two central areas of the gallery’s research, Africa and Asia, brought together in a dialogue that spans cultures and periods.
