On the occasion of Asian Art Week, Dalton Somaré Gallery presents the exhibition The Buddha – Images of the Enlightened One, dedicated to ancient Indo-Buddhist sculpture.

The exhibition brings together a selection of sculptures from Nepal, Tibet and India, offering a journey through the different representations of the Enlightened One and related figures.
The works on display reflect the development of a refined iconographic language, in which gesture, posture and attributes carry specific meanings connected to the transmission of Buddhist teachings and meditative practice.
The exhibition highlights both the spiritual depth and the formal quality of Buddhist art, considered one of the fundamental chapters in the history of Asian art.

The Buddha and Indo-Buddhist images
