IKONS: African art and primitivism
The works on display highlight essential forms, symbolic power, and expressive intensity, elements that profoundly influenced the development of European Primitivism.
Through these sculptures, the exhibition reflects on the enduring impact of African art on modern artistic thought.
A dialogue with Cubism
The African sculptures are presented in dialogue with Cubist works by Serge Férat, creating a comparison between two distinct visions of space and form.
This juxtaposition emphasizes the relationship between African art and the avant-garde movements of the 20th century, underlining the role of extra-European arts in shaping modern artistic language.
A renewed exhibition project
For this edition of BRAFA Art Fair, the gallery’s exhibition space has been expanded and completely redesigned, with the aim of enhancing both the works and the dialogue between different artistic languages.
